'LET THE PICTURES TELL THE STORY'
CATALYST directors, staff, volunteers, supporters and friends have worked hard since 2016 to raise the profile of the African and Caribbean community's need for improved mental health services, and better rights and outcomes for those with a lived experience of mental health. We have efficiently elevated the voice of our communities to decision and policy makers, and will continue to do so!
Audience Interaction
Over 100 Black community members, community organisations, businesses, statutory services, and allies gathered at Midlands Arts Centre for the launch of Catalyst 4 Change’s Black Thrive Birmingham programme. This was our first Community Assembly.

The Presenters
The Performers
Catalyst is the lead organisation for Black Thrive in Birmingham.
In 2021 Co-Director, Sandra Griffiths, said;
“We have already been working with community organisations, social enterprises, faith groups, statutory services and businesses across the West Midlands for six years to address the mental health needs of people from African and Caribbean communities.
"Last year we secured two-year funding from the National Lottery Leaders with Lived Experience programme to support emerging Black entrepreneurs and grassroots organisations to create innovative approaches to mental health support and community role models.
"I am absolutely delighted that this new funding through the Black Thrive Partnership will build on what we are doing and enable us to drive forward solutions so that Black Communities in Birmingham move from just surviving to thriving."
