FEATURE ONE: New 24/7 mental health text service for Birmingham and Solihull *

Text ‘Space’ to 85258 for Free, Confidential Support Anytime.


A new, round-the-clock mental health text service is now available to people living in Birmingham and Solihull, offering free and confidential support at the touch of a button. Launched in August 2025, the all-age service is a partnership between Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Shout, the UK’s first 24/7 text messaging support service, powered by the charity Mental Health Innovations.

FEATURE TWO: Birmingham Mental Health & Wellbeing Hubs *

The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health & Wellbeing Hubs (BSMHWH) is a service delivered in partnership by Birmingham Mind and Creative Support.


The service supports adults over the age of 18, under secondary mental health services in Birmingham or Solihull, on GP SMI list or having long term/severe mental health problems.

FEATURE FOUR: NHS 111 is now offering crisis mental health support

For the first time, people experiencing mental health crisis can now benefit from support through the NHS 111 Helpline. Announced in August 2024.


Millions of patients experiencing a mental health crisis can now benefit from support through 111, the NHS has announced. The change means the NHS in England is one of the first countries in the world to offer access to a 24/7 full package of mental health crisis support through one single phone line.
