SUPPORTING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
At CATALYST 4 CHANGE we know that African and Caribbean communities are holders of huge reserves of social capital, of assets and resources, skills and talents, knowledge and experience… yet much of this remains unknown and little understood or utilised by our public agencies.
ROUTES TO CHANGE
We know that a key route to change is in making better and more creative use of the African and Caribbean communities social capital; existing research, forging stronger productive partnerships between researchers/academics/theorists; community activists/experts and by experienced practitioners and mental health service providers s in both the statutory and voluntary sector.
CATALYST Core Services Summary
Capacity Building & Funding Support
We provide signposting, capacity building support services for service user led, voluntary and community mental health and wellbeing organisations based on a response tailored to the needs of organisations.
We will actively encourage collaboration amongst the service sectors we support.
Service Incubation
The service incubation provision provides the safety net of a fully constituted and accountable agency acting as the responsible body for any such developing organisations until they have the confidence, all round skills and necessary infrastructure to be fully independent.
Representation, Research & Evaluation
CATALYST 4 CHANGE will act as a voice and intermediary with publicly accountable bodies for and on behalf of the service sectors that are represented in our core aims.
We will ensure that any proposed or existing services amongst the service sectors we support are most effectively meeting identified needs in the community, and are not overly duplicated or competitive.
Professional Services & Mapping
CATALYST 4 CHANGE will encourage economies of scale and skill sharing by maintaining an up to date online directory of both member and external professional services across a broad spectrum, from office services to design and consultancy. Professional networking opportunities will also be made available.
